Fighting Back:
Ten tips for Fighting back:
  1. Get away by any means possible, never trust your attacker, use verbal strategies at first but be prepared to ‘get physical’ if they fail. Remember there is a ‘first strike capability’ in law.

  2. Hit as hard and as often as you can and be prepared to inflict pain and damage on your attacker. Be prepared to suffer pain and injury yourself.
  3. Fight dirty and don’t give in.

  4. Use anything you were carrying or can pick up as a weapon.

  5. If carrying a Personal Attack Alarm set it off, hit the Attacker with it and throw it away. Never run off with the Alarm in your hand – it will act as a homing device for the attacker!

  6. The Heel of the Palm is physiologically far stronger than a clenched fist, drive it at an attackers chin or nose to knock his head back. Think – ‘nearest weapon = closest target’

  7. Knee striking the groin needs to be done as hard, fast and often as possible until the assailant is disabled. Remember Head first and Groin second for best effect.

  8. Having temporarily disabled your attacker, don’t hang around to recover personal property or clothing get as far away as possible and head for a place of safety – call the Police.

  9. Biting, Scratching, Hair pulling, Testicle Striking and Pulling as well as Stamping on Feet and kicking Shins are all valid self-defence actions. Don’t let civilised behaviour prevent you from being effective. Be totally committed in your actions, your life may depend upon it!

  10. Make as much noise as possible – shout don’t scream.
